Life’s Editor

(My Last Post)

I did not have my editor for last week’s post and it was painfully obvious. Resolutioning? Really? What is that? My daughter is never again allowed to get sick when she is stuck 4 hours away and can’t make it home. Nope, not allowing it.

What about in life? Do we need an editor to get us through?

I believe we most definitely do.

Some might say it is that little voice in your head, your conscience, you know Jiminey Cricket. Others may say it is the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. Some will tell you it is the word of God. But we all need an editor to get through this life.

Look at the people who don’t have an editor or choose not to listen, thanks to instant media you see them all over the news.

God is my life editor these days. That hasn’t always been so and look at the mess I got myself into! The word of God can direct every aspect of your life, it is all there, no second guessing. That makes it very easy to stay out of trouble, as long as we choose to listen.

There are those that know what God’s word says and choose not to listen. “What’s the big deal? This is what I want.” Not hard to guess who is editing their life. That will get them into a heap of trouble, I know, I was there. There is always repercussions. It may not happen immediately, though sometimes it does, but it will happen. And I can guarantee that it will not be pleasant!

And just because the option to sin is available to us, and the devil is very persuasive, does not mean that we have to make that choice. A gift from God is free will. So we all have the right to be as stupid or as smart as we want to. My hope is that we chose to be smart.

Well, this is my last post. This was supposed to be about surviving divorce, and while it still is, it has gone an entirely different direction than I had intended. I am not complaining, it has been an amazing journey, but it is not what was originally intended and it is rather misleading when someone pulls up the first few posts.

I am very thankful to my readers who have stuck with me through this, and even for those I have lost. Bear with me, I hope that in a couple of months time I will have something even better than this blog to offer.

Thank you all for your support!
